In Nepal, Minister for Land Reform and Management, Chandra Dev Joshi has resigned from his post today. Joshi who is also the Chairman of Communist Party of Nepal (United), a fringe party, handed over his resignation to Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, expressing his dissatisfaction over the government’s failure to take initiative for political consensus.
He charged the Prime Minister of being indifferent to forge political consensus among the parties to end the ongoing political impasse in the country. Earlier, the Central Committee meeting of the party had decided to withdraw from the government.
