In Punjab, government agencies will start purchasing paddy from tomorrow. Five Punjab government agencies and Food Corporation of India will purchase paddy for the central pool. Punjab government has set up 1770 purchase centres in the State. A government spokesman has said that one crore 30 lakh ton paddy is expected to come for sale in the market. Paddy has been sown on 28 lakh hectares of land in the state.
