Haryana Government has decided to implement e-Pension System to disburse pension to all pensioners and family pensioners of the state.They will start drawing their pension through this system on or after August 1, 2012.

Haryana Finance Minister Harmohinder Singh Chattha said that for all other pensioners or family pensioners will be covered under this scheme later in a phased manner.

he National Human Rights Commission,NHRC, has recommended to the Haryana Government to pay 25 thousand rupees each as monetary relief to 288 students of government schools in Kurukshetra district who fell sick after taking mid-day meal last month. The Commission has asked the state health department to take action against the errant public servants in the matter. Taking suo motu cognizance of media reports, the NHRC has also sought a report from the Health Secretary of Haryana within six weeks in this regard. The Commission also asked the state government to depute an enquiry officer to fix the responsibility of the errant public servants

 Haryana Chief Minister, Mr.Bhupinder Singh Hooda today announced to increase the minimum wages of the workers by 120 rupees per month in the State and these would be effective from July 1, 2012. Mr Hooda said that the decision to increase the minimum wages would benefit more than 11.5 lakh labourers working in factories, shops, dhabas, small undertakings and brick kilns. As many as, 7.5 lakh workers are working in about 11,500 large and small scale industries and four lakh people are working in the shops, dhabas and small undertakings.

The Haryana Government has signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with four independent power producers for setting up of five biomass power projects of 51-MW capacity with an investment of Rs 230 crore.

Out of these, two projects are likely to be commissioned soon.

While stating this at Chandigarh today, an official spokesman said the State Government had increased annual budget of Renewable Energy Department from Rs 3.9 crore in the year 2004-2005 to Rs 42.43 crore in the year 2012-13 as a part of its programme to promote renewable energy in the state.

Haryana Government has constituted state and district level committees to inspect children shelter homes run by NGO`s. The step has been taken after the Apna Ghar controversy, which is being invstigated by CBI now. A government spokesman said that the committees also suggest possible improvements.

The committee members would interact with inmates of shelter homes in the absence of NGO members and collect their feedback on the facilities and treatment being given to them. The Director General of Department of Women and Child development Sumita Misra will head the state level committee while the deputy commissioners will head the district level committees.

In Haryana, the government has decided to shift the proposed Exhibition cum convention centre (ECC) Project from Panchgarhi chowk, Gurgaon to the Garhi Harsaru Special Economic Zone (SEZ) site. At present the site is in the possession of Reliance Haryana SEZ Ltd. (RHSL). Since the SEZ project could not fructify in the past five years, the 1383 acres in Gurgaon Garhi Harsaru is being returned to Haryana State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (HSIIDC) by the Reliance Industries the lead partner in the RHSL. A Government spokesman said that about 400 acres of 1383 acres will be earmarked for the ECC project.

The spokesman said that the ECC project is one of the three early bird initiatives identified under the Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Project. He said that the ECC project that was conceptualised in consultation with the Union Ministries of Commerce and Industry will be implemented through a special purpose vehicle to be floated jointly by the Government of India and the Haryana Government with a 50-50 share holding. The Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor Development Corporation (DMICDC) and HSIIDC will be partners in the SPV.

he National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has asked the Haryana Government to pay within eight weeks Rs 5 lakh each as monetary compensation to three victims of false murder charges. A compliance report along with proof of payment within the same period has been sought from the State Chief Secretary. The Commission in its order has said that it was a case of serious violation of human rights of the three innocent victims, Inder, Jal Singh and Laxmi, who were imprisoned for more than two months after they were falsely accused of the murder of Laxmi's husband Sohan Lal. The Commission had taken suo motu cognizance of a media report carried on 12th June,2011. It was reported that Sohan Lal, a transport agent from Hodal in Haryana, suspected his wife of having an illicit affair with another person. He hatched his murder conspiracy to teach his wife a lesson. Enquiries revealed that Sohan Lal had faked his murder by planting his identity card and PAN card in the dead body of an unknown drunkard, who was killed and defaced by him with the help of his friends. The Commission has asked Director General of Police to submit the status of the criminal case filed against Sohan Lal and others within six weeks.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupender Singh Hooda has announced the change of the name of Makan Anudaan Yojna to Baba Saheb Ambedkar Makaan Yojna on the occasion of 121st birth anniversary of Baba Saheb Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar. Under this scheme 50,000 rupees have been given to the Scheduled castes and liberated and Tapriwas tribes. 



The Chief Minister also announced to 21 lakh rupees for Dr B R Ambedkar Student Hostel. Hooda said Baba Saheb had shown us the right path and Haryana Government has implemented so many schemes for welfare of poors following his footprints.

In Haryana, Union Minister of State for Planning, Science & Technology and Earth Sciences, Ashwani Kumar has said that the Centre plans to set up 14 Innovation Universities in the states and one of them is proposed to be set up at Kundli in Haryana. Addressing the media at chandigarh today, he said, there is a need to boost research and innovation activities in the field of dairy farming, Animal Husbandry and soil health in Haryana as the agricultural production level has reached saturation level there. The Minister said that his Ministry proposes to enhance the annual outlay of Haryana in health sector from 4.4 to 5.9 per cent percent.Speaking on inclusive growth, Mr Ashwani Kumar said that Haryana should concentrate on improving mortality rate, gender discrimination and male-female sex ratio with special focus on Mewat area. The Minister commended the work done by Haryana for development of new technologies, diversification of crops and development of vegetable centres etc. He also commended the state for better implementation of MGNREGA, NRHM and total sanitation programme.

A newly constructed bypass connecting Haryana and Himachal Pradesh has been opened for traffic today. Now people traveling to Shimla may use this road avoiding some major bottlenecks at kalka and pinjore.

The implementation of Right to Education, RTE Act, completed two years on Sunday. Under the RTE Act, all the children in the age group of 6 to 14 years are entitled to get free and compulsory education.

The provisions of the Act also ensure free text books, school uniforms and school bags to all children.

Human Resource Development Minister Kapil Sibal said that RTE has led to a significant improvement in decreasing the annual average dropout rate in the country which has comedown to 6.9 per cent in 2010-11 from the earlier 9.1 per cent in 2009-10.

He said that there has been an over 5 per cent decline in the drop out rate in Bihar, Jharkhand, Nagaland and Uttar Pradesh. However, Haryana and Mizoram have shown an increase in the drop out rat

Haryana State Information Commission has directed all the departments and organizations of the state to comply with the mandated requirements of sssection 4 of the Right to Information (RTI) Act 2005. the implementation of section 4 of the Act would ensure transparency in the working of the public authorities.


Haryana Government and Delhi Metro Rail Corporation on Monday signed an agreement regarding Extension of Metro Rail from Badarpur Metro Station to YMCA Chowk of Faridabad. The project will be completed in 2014. This will provide connectivity to the people of Faridabad from Badarpur, to YMCA Chowk Faridabad. With nine stations from Badapur, the total cost of the project would be 2494 crores rupees, out of which Government of Haryana will bear the expenditure of 1557.40 crore rupees. Land for this project will be provided by the Government of Haryana free of cost on lease basis of DMRC.
