Nepal’s President Dr Ram Baran Yadav has endorsed two anti-money laundering bills, the Mutual legal Assistance Bill and Extradition Bill .The bills were endorsed through ordinances today. The President’s Office, clarified that the President endorsed the bills keeping in view the Nepal's national interest and the commitment to the international community.

The government had forwarded the two bills to the President yesterday for endorsement through ordinance to avoid the risk of Nepal being blacklisted from Financial Action Task force (FATF), a global anti-money laundering body. The opposition parties who have been against the issuing of bills through ordinance had even urged the President not to endorse any bills forwarded by the caretaker government .
