The Third Indo-Bangladesh Trade Fair 2012 being organized by the India Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry is set to begin in Dhaka on Thursday.
The fair will be inaugurated by Bangladesh Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith. Bangladesh Minister for Industries Mr. Dilip Barua, Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh Mr. Nabam Tuki and Chief Minister of Meghalaya Mr. Mukul Sangma and High Commissioner of India to Bangladesh Mr. Pankaj Saran are also scheduled to address the inaugural ceremony.
A business delegation from India and a delegation of ministers and government officials from the North Eastern states are also scheduled to participate in the fair in Dhaka.

Growth in the country's industrial production slowed to 4.1 per cent in February this year, from 6.7 per cent growth posted in February 2011, mainly due to poor performance of the manufacturing sector. According to official data released, today, output of the manufacturing sector rose 4 per cent in February 2012. But the capital goods sector grew 10.6 per cent in February 2012, while power generation grew 8 per cent during the month.
During the April 2011 to February 2012 period, industrial growth stood at 3.5 per cent, against 8.1 per cent in the corresponding eleven-month period of 2010-11.
