US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is scheduled to arrive in Dhaka on May 5th on an official two day tour to Bangladesh. During her stay in Dhaka, the US Secretary of State will call on Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also hold talks with Bangladesh Foreign Minister Dr.Dipumoni.
Ms. Clinton is also scheduled to interact with civil society representatives during her visit which is expected to further strengthen the political economic and security co-operation between the two countries.
Ms. Clinton will be visiting Dhaka barely three weeks after the first ever US-Bangladesh security dilaogue was held in Bangladesh. US Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Andrew J. Shapiro led the US delegation at the daylong dialogue in Dhaka which discussed ways to enhance partnerships in peacekeeping, joint military exercises and exchanges, counter-terrorism, and security cooperation.
