In Chhattisgarh, a district and session court of today convicted a retired IAS officer M K Sarthi on the charges of rape and sentenced him for seven years rigorous imprisonment. This IAS officer
was accused of sexually exploiting an anganwadi supervisor during his tenure in Jashpur as collector in 2001.
District and sessions judge Jashpur Prabhat Kumar Shastri today sentenced him for rigorous imprisonment for seven years on the charge of rape, criminal intimidation and wrongful restraint and also slapped a fine of 10,000 Rs.
