Assam government will publish a white paper on steps being taken to detect and deport illegal migrants. Talking to newsmen in Guwahati today Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi said that the government will come out with the white paper in first week of the next month.
Gogoi also asked Asom Gana Parishad and BJP to come out with details of steps adopted by them when in power. The Chief Minister also said that a retired judge will be appointed to advice the special directorate on the guidelines for the process of updating the National Register of Citizens, NRC.Mr Gogoi further said that the situation in the violence hit areas improved. He sought help from all sections to maintain peace and harmony in the state. |
