he Chennai High Court today directed Tamilnadu to frame guidelines on the safety of the school vehicles and buses which are used for ferrying students.

The first Bench comprising Chief Justice M.Y.Iqbal and Justice T.S.Sivagnanam said that the Government should frame the guidelines within two weeks. 

It said that the draft should be submitted to the Court which would look into it and give its suggestions to improve the safety aspects in school buses. After the incident in which Shruthi, a second standard student was killed when she fell through a hole on the floor of the bus and crushed to death at Tambaram. 

Four persons including the Correspondent of the School and the driver were arrested and the RTO who issued safety certificate to the bus was suspended from service yesterday.
