In Assam, flood situation continues to be grim in Barpeta, Nalbari and Morigaon districts. Around 180 villages are reeling under flood. River bank erosion in Morigaon also makes the flood situation worse.
The rising water of the Brahmaputra eroded 200 hectare standing crop land in 24 hours. The District Administration shifted 300 families at Laharighat in Morigaon to safer places Monday morning.
Meanwhile, Official sources said that the state government has drawn up a work-plan for the affected districts in a meeting held in Guwahati on Monday.
