A former British Prime Minister, Mr. Tony Blair has told a long running Inquiry into Media Ethics that the relationship between politicians and Media Moghuls was unhealthy.

But he rejected suggestions of being too close to the Head of News Corporation, Rupert Murdoch. Mr. Blair said it was only after leaving office that he got to know Mr. Murdoch well enough to be chosen as a godfather to one of Mr. Murdoch's children. Hecklers briefly disrupted proceedings with allegations about Mr. Blair's role in the Iraq War.
