West Bengal Government has decided to increase financial assistance under ‘Samajik Mukti Yojana’ for the labourers of unorganized sector. Labour Minister Purnendu Basu said in Kolkata that, the financial assistance will be hiked under the Yojana for life insurance, education and medical schemes.
Basu said that, the labourers will be given a smart card after enrollment of their names in the Yojana and the facilities will be given to them through this card. About 2 crore labourers of the unorganized sector will be benefited by this decision.
