A Palestinian delegation will hand over Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu a letter on Tuesday summing up the Palestinian vision regarding the resumption of the peace talks. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas has said the letter is the last attempt to convince Israel to halt settlement activities and recognize the borders of the future Palestinian state. Palestinian Prime Minister Salam Fayyad will head the delegation, which will also include chief peace negotiator Saeb Erekat and Yasser Abed Rabbo, a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestinian Liberation Organization. However, Israel's Defense Minister Ehud Barak said the planned meeting between Netanyahu and Fayyad may not take place, citing disagreements over a transfer of tax revenues Israel collected on behalf of the Palestinians as the reason for calling off the parley.
