Minister of State for Home Affairs Mr Jitendra Singh today flagged off the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Ganga Rafting expedition at ITBP headquarters in New Delhi. Flagging off the expedition, Mr Singh said that the aim of this expedition is to create awareness about clean water, preservation of ecosystem of the Ganga and preservation of flora and fauna in the river.
Speaking on the occasion Director General, ITBP Ranjit Sinha has said the focus of the expedition is at creating a sense of adventure among youth and to promote adventure water sports. It will increase professional efficiency of the force in high Himalayas as rafting is one of the means of transportation
