In Bangladesh, a dawn-to-dusk countrywide strike, called by the Bangladesh Nationalist Party, BNP over the issue of missing party leader M.Ilias Ali, has entered the third day today. The first six hours of the strike has passed of peacefully today with no major incidents of violence reported so far.

Thousands of police personnel and teams of the elite rapid action battalion are patroling the streets to avert any untoward incident.
