The Afghan government says it has agreed a deal on the conduct of night raids by US special forces. A spokesman said the Afghan defence minister and the US commander would sign the deal today to bring night raids under Afghan leadership.
The raids have been a source of tension between the Afghan government and the US military. Night raids are currently carried out by Nato and Afghan special forces. The agreement comes ahead of the planned withdrawal of US and other foreign troops from Afghanistan in 2014.
