In Nepal, leaders of the Samyukta Loktantrik Madhesi Morcha, the alliance of five Madhes based parties have strongly opposed the agreement of adopting an eleven model state in the state restructuring.
The Madhesi Morcha and three major parties, UCPN (maoist) Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML held a meeting in Kathmandu on Thursday, in which their leaders said that the proposal is not acceptable to them.
According to Acting Chairman of Madhesi Janadhikar Forum -Raj Kishor Yadav, the Madhesi Morcha leaders stressed that the federal model should be based on the state restructuring commission and the Constituent Assembly thematic committee.
The alliance which has five ministers in the present cabinet has threatened to pull out of the national consensus government. They are to hold another round of meeting later on Thursday. |
